Midnight For Charlie Bone by Jenny Nimmo

The Charlie Bone series is a really good series. It is so good, we're going to review it one book at a time.

In "Midnight For Charlie Bone", Charlie finds out he has an extraordinary power, and he ends up having to attend a special school called Bloor's Academy. There he meets Fidelio, his new friend an a really good musician.

Charlie also meets Olivia Vertigo, Gabriel Silk, and Emma Tolly. They all have a special power of some kind. Well, most of them do anyway.

Charlie has two grandmothers that he lives with...one is good, and one is, well, not so good. His mom also lives with him, but his dad mysteriously died. And that is part of the mystery Charlie tries to solve.

His best friend in the entire world is a kid named Benjamin Brown, and his dog is named Runnerbean (cool, huh?).

In this book, they are trying to save a girl who is hypnotized, Emma, from the evil people: Asa Pike, Manfred Bloor, and Zelda Dobinski.

"Midnight For Charlie Bone" isn't all that scary...at least, I don't think so. But you might not want to be reading it at night. It's kind of a cross between Harry Potter and a book by Roald Dahl.

I give "Midnight For Charlie Bone" ten out of five bookmarks...I REALLY like this series. I recommend it for ages 10 and up. Even my mom (and I'm not saying how old she is) would like this book. If I can ever get her to read it...

See you in the funny pages!
